‘Moha Mudgara’
Destroyer of Delusion
Based on ‘Bhaja Govindam’ by Adi Shankaracharya
Bhaja Govindam, the philosophical composition by Adi Shankaracharya is also known as ‘Moha Mudgara’. In and through 31 verses, Shankara hammers the mind preoccupied in the blind chase of acquisition and indulgence. He exposes and educates us on the limitations, absurdity over terrestrial pursuits for inner fulfilment. Provokes and invokes the dormant intellect to see the exaggerated value for them. Develop ‘Viveka’ discernment and ‘Vairagya’ non-attachment. Redirect life’s course and seek ‘Govinda’ the Eternal Atman.
Bhaja Govindam prescribes the fundamental spiritual practices such as karma action, bhakti devotion and Jnana knowledge, along with ‘Satsang’ spiritual association and ‘Samskaras’ purifying practices, to redirect and elevate the fallen mind. The text concludes with ‘Guru’s grace’, which is the key to spiritual path and attainment of the Ultimate auspiciousness in life.
